About Me
Hi, my name is Mr. Patrick Roman and I teach Social Studies here at St. Angela Merici School.
I grew up in Lakewood, Ohio where I attended St. James Catholic School and St. Edward High School
My wife and I recently moved to Fairview Park with our two dogs, Puddle and Happy. We welcomed our son Tony (SAM '35) into the world on 2021!
I love to travel and backpack (the kind of camping where you keep all your gear in a bag on your back, then walk to a new campsite each day). I have camped in Maine, New Hampshire, Tennessee, Washington, Oregon, the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, Colorado, Iceland, Scotland, and all over Ohio and Pennsylvania. I am an active Scout leader with Troop 287 in Lakewood.
I enjoy writing, reading, riding motorcycles, fixing those same motorcycles, riding bicycles, cooking, and repairing whatever my wife asks me to repair.
Prior to coming to St. Angela Merici, I taught Latin at St. Edward High School and Social Studies at Facing History New Tech in Cleveland.
My Education
I attended Baldwin Wallace College where I earned my B.A in both History and Philosophy. I also attended Cleveland State University where I earned my Masters in Education.
What do you love about SAM
Working with students who are so eager to learn, especially introducing them to the joys of mechanical typewriters! Also, Cane's Day with my fellow Upper School teachers (but mostly Mrs. Ruiz).
I work with the Student Council and Trivia Club here at SAM.
