Fall Sports Sign-ups

Happy Spring!  It is hard to believe, but sign-ups for Fall SAM CYO Sports are now open.  SAM Sports Boosters is supporting the following sports this fall:

1. Flag Football: Grades 1 - 3 ($100 per student athlete)

2. Padded Flag Football: Grade 4 ($100 per student athlete)

3. Girls Volleyball: Grades 3 - 8 ($125 per student athlete)

4. Intramural Cross Country: Grades 1 - 2 ($35 per student athlete)

5. Cross Country: Grades 3 - 8 ($85 per student athlete)

6. Tackle Football: Grades 5 - 8 (Cost for Grades 5 and 6 is $200, other grades is TBD, more information below)

REGISTRATION CLOSES ON June 2nd, so sign up now.

The link to registration is below. When registering, please remember to update the student athlete's grade to their current grade on the Student Information part of the registration, if necessary. Also, select the Parish field if not already entered. A current physical, conducted within 13 months of August 1, 2024, is required to participate.

If you are interested in tackle football, please register.  There is no cost to register for grades 6 - 8.  If you are interested in CYO football (grades 6, 7, 8), we can assist in placing your student athlete on a team. For Grade 6, we will determine if we will determine if we have enough players for a team. For Grade 5, we will have a St. Angela CYO Team. If you have further questions, please contact Sports Boosters at sportsboosters@samparish.org.

Practices and evaluations will start around July 25th. Players and runners will not be able to participate in any practices and/or evaluations until a physical is on file. 

Volleyball teams are split evenly in 3rd, 4th and 5th grade.  Teams are split by strength in 6th, 7th and 8th grade.  Evaluations will take place around the last week of July, so please plan accordingly.

Registration after June 2nd will result in the student athlete being put on a waiting list and does not guarantee a spot on the​team.

We are looking for coaches in all grades (1-8) for both boys and girls. We will review all of the information provided and select the coaches. All head coaches and assistant coaches MUST be VIRTUS trained prior to the first practice AND complete the Coaches Development Program (CDP) prior to the first game.

Sports Booster's Goal

To create a positive environment for the youth of St. Angela Merici parish to participate in sports in order to learn the importance of teamwork, hard work, discipline, sportsmanship and demonstrating Christian values in all aspects of one’s life.

Meetings

SAM Sports Boosters meets the second Monday of each month. The meetings start at 7:00 p.m. and are held in the Social Hall East meeting room, unless otherwise posted. Please feel free to attend the meetings if you want to volunteer, have an idea, or just want to hear what is going on. If there is a topic you wish to discuss at the meeting, we ask that you email the Sports Boosters President one week before the meeting.
